The GLE SUV comes with 19-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, a sunroof, a roof rack, LED daytime running lights and rear privacy glass. In addition, it offers power-folding and auto-dimming mirrors, power liftgate and dual-zone automatic climate control.
The Mercedes GLE is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine which produces 302 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. Combined with the seven-speed automatic transmission, the GLE reaches 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds.
A Well-Equipped Cabin
The interior of this luxury SUV features a wood trim, heated and power front seats, driver memory functions and a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel. In addition, the LED accent lighting, COMAND electronics interface and backup camera offer an up-to-date feel. Combine those with the technology options like Bluetooth, eight-speaker audio system, HD radio, USB port and CD player and you’ll be riding in style.
The GLE is a Safe Car to Drive
There are numerous safety features as well, including antilock disc brakes, forward collision warning system plus traction and stability control. It also offers Pre-Safe, a rearview camera, hill start assist, side curtain airbags, front-seat airbags and driver knee airbag for the ultimate in safety. The Mbrace telematics system offers automatic collision notification, stolen vehicle location, alarm notification, geo-fencing and remote door lock plus unlock. Edmunds also tested the brakes to stop the vehicle from 100 km/h in 38 meters.
No matter where you sit in the Mercedes GLE, you’ll have plenty of room aboard this spacious SUV. Cargo capacity is an astounding 38.2-cubic feet with the seats up or 80.3-cubic feet when the seats are folded flat. That provides plenty of room for all your family’s luggage.
